Who am I?

  1. Who Am I? The Story of My Life

My name is Alex Silva. I was born in León, Nicaragua, in 1992. I’m of mixed European descent. I believe that Jesus is God and the only way to heaven.

I’m a professional soccer player and have played for clubs in Division 1 and Division 2 in Nicaragua. Some of the teams I played for include Walter Ferretti, América, San Judas, UAM, UCA, and La Salle. Soccer has been my passion since I was six years old.

My journey hasn’t been easy—my family never fully supported my dream of becoming a professional athlete. They wanted me to work in an office and do something else with my life. But I don’t blame them. In the past, there wasn’t much of a future for soccer players in Nicaragua. Fortunately, things are changing now, and the sport is getting more support than ever.

Despite the lack of support, I never gave up. I chose to listen only to God’s voice. He told me I was good enough and that I would make it—so I decided to believe Him and go all in. I worked extremely hard, and today I have strong soccer skills. I’m truly happy because I get to do what I love, something I’ve dreamed of since childhood.

In 2021, I made the decision to move to the United States—a great decision. Life hasn’t been easy here either, but I’ve learned so much. Here in the U.S., people recognize my skills. Soccer clubs respect me and open their doors because they see my high-level game. This is where I began to understand that God has a purpose for my life—and that every situation, good or bad, was meant to make me stronger. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the experiences of my past.

I realized that Jesus is not just a religion. He is life. He is the truth, the beginning, and the end. He’s everywhere—not just in church. All you need to do is bow your knee and pray to Him with honesty. You can’t hide anything from Him.

I’m good at many things, and that’s why I feel truly blessed! One of my biggest passions is graphic design. Man, I love art. I get excited when friends take me to art galleries, or when clients tell me how good my designs make them feel. It fulfills my spirit.

Well, that’s it for now. Check back on this page later—I’ll be writing more about my life soon. I hope you enjoyed reading, and I’ll keep you posted!
